THE DREAM PROM

CREATIVE DIRECTOR | SCRIPTWRITER

The Dream Prom was a concert which took the audience on a journey deep into the subconscious mind, its shadows, and the memories that make us who we are. The storytelling spectacle transforms the Royal Albert Hall by a series of dreamscape projections and live music, following the story of Sky (played by Omari Douglas), who, haunted by a recurring dream from his childhood, turns to a Dream Journal to understand his own mind.

The evening was co-created by 30 BBC Open Music artists from a range of backgrounds across the UK, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the BBC. Taking inspiration from their own lives and artistic journeys, their ideas were interwoven to create a series of vignettes on the subject of dreams, identity and mental wellbeing.
