A SHOE FULL OF STARS

DIRECTOR

Stage director for ‘A Shoe Full of Stars’ a groundbreaking youth-theatre project which explored the impact of extremist violence, created collaboratively with young people impacted by the 2017 Manchester Arena Bombings and Anti-terrorist organisation The Active Change Foundation.

I led a professional production creative team which gave voice to the young people’s performance on their response to the situation, in collaboration with the writer Ed Harris (Dot, BBC Radio). The resulting production was featured on ITV and Channel 4 news, and won an international award.

Created with North Huddersfield Trust School, anti-terrorist organisation The Active Change Foundation, The Oxford Centre for the Retraction of Intractable Conflict and West Yorkshire Police. Supported by The Opera Awards Foundation, York University, and Arts Council England.
